We are a distributed team. Company headquarters is in Chicago, IL. This is a role based in Chicago, 5 days a week in the company HQ office. The CodeHS Chicago office is at 747 N LaSalle in River North.
  

Curriculum Developer - Elementary - Job Description

Target start date - February to June 2024 

As a Curriculum Developer at CodeHS, you'll be responsible for helping to build high quality computer science curriculum for students as part of our curriculum team. You'll be focused on the teacher side, helping to create materials, resources, lessons plans, alignment to standards and much more. 

This position is focused on creating new elementary computer science curriculum and materials for CodeHS. 

Job Responsibilities Include:

* Build new elementary focused computer science curriculum

Help maintain and improve existing computer science curriculum

* Help to build new courses with curriculum team

* Building teacher resources

* Writing lesson plans

* Creating handouts and activities

* Writing alignments to standards

* Customizing courses for schools, districts and states

* Creating instructional videos

* Work with school districts on implementing curriculum 

* Work with training team or help run professional development

 

Qualifications

* Required: 2 years teaching coding in elementary school

* Experience working in the K12 educational system

* Fantastic organizational skills and attention to detail

* A team player, very communicative and collaborative

* Creative and brings positive energy to the office 

* Self-motived and ability to work independently 

* A basic level of programming experience
